Take two minutes, and read this. Don’t be rude.
I met a girl who I don’t even know today. She was smiling, laughing, being that of the normal. The entire time we talked, I had this feeling in me that something was wrong. She was hiding that true face. I approached her about it, and I was right. She recently tried to kill her self by driving off a cliff, surviving with a broken arm and wounds.
She told me why. She also told me that she wanted to end things today, but I told her:
“Promise me, a complete stranger that you wont give up. There’s always someone who cares about you, someone who will listen when you feel alone, someone who will always think your beautiful when you think you’re scum.” She cried, harder than I’ve ever seen in my life. She took her labtop with her out to her front porch and showed me her stash of razors and pills she wanted to OD on, and she threw them as far as she could. She told me all she wanted was someone to understand that beneath her happiness, there’s a world of hate and to not just look at her as an object. That’s all she wanted, and I gave it to her.
I’ve never had this feeling in my life, because I haven’t had this happen before.
But please, if you feel like someone is going through something underneath that face of smiles… ask them. Sometimes they just want to be heard, sometimes just understood. It could mean the whole world to them, guys.
Don’t turn the face, or else we’ll lose good people more and more every day.
